Lyric App
This was an academic brief that focused on developing a lyrics app prototype for a chosen musician.
The brief was to only use icons designed through typography and glyphs to navigate the app.
The app features a limited colour palette based on Allie X’s ‘Super Sunset’ album which is sharp and highlights the typography well.
About My Artist
Alexandra Ashley Hughes known as 'Allie X' on stage is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She began her career as an indie pop artist in Toronto in the mid 2000s.
In July 2013, Hughes moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time career as a songwriter and kept working on her solo material as she wanted to learn sound design and production.
This is the first time she adopted her stage name and worked with producers such as Cirkut and Billboard.

I based my limited colour palette on Allie X's album covers. Super Sunset stood out to me the most through the sharp yellow and black colour tones for the lyric app
Bodoni MT was my header font. It was chosen based by Allie X’s album cover ‘CollXtion I’ which features short and thick serif lines. Bodoni also features smooth and sharp curves which fits the albums artstyle.
Sweet Sans was my body font. It was also based around Allie X’s album cover ‘CollXtion I’ which showcases a smooth and minimalistic style. The font also matches Allie X’s music through tone and aesthetic
